Ping introduces 7.5 ° Driver G440 LST

In what reaches a line extension aiming at a narrow segment of players, ping has quietly added a 7.5 ° option to his G440 LST driver Formation, addressing the specific assembly needs that came out of the tour players’ reactions and customer test data.

Why the ultra low loft option?

Adding 7.5 ° LST stems from a basic ping issue detected with players seeking optimal trajectory control. As the G440 platform starts up from the design (Back CG Designs will do it), some players found themselves in a suitable state when trying to choose the ball flight.

“We had a request from the tournament to continue to try to choose the trajectory,” explains Ryan Stockke, director of the product design for ping. “The players wanted the ability to Play less attic to call the trajectory really

The problem was not just about the angle of starting. “We also have players who had a sensitivity to the right prejudice,” noted stock. “To get to the departure that was desirable, they went to the big minus environment, but then the driver sat slightly more open than was desirable.”

The advantage of neutral position

7.5 ° LST solves this by providing low ultra attic to neutral position (Dot), allowing players to Achieve lower boot while maintaining a square angle of face to address.

“Our main goal with this design was to go to the lower attic that sits more square in the neutral position so that we can choose the trajectory and start line,” Stockke said.

Who should consider 7.5 °?

Ping data mines found that 25% of players currently using 9 ° LST are optimized when using big minus setting – means one in four LST players already require lower attic than 9 ° standard.

Among customers tested in ping facilities, about half of the players you will usually enter larger profits in the distance.

“Lowering the pallor and being able to play less attic for about half of those big minus players would lead to even greater profit and precision in the distance to target the line,” Stockke said.

Tournament

LST 7.5 ° has already gained tours, with Austin Eckroat now playing the driver. Other Ping employees as well as some non -staff players are also testing the club.

The low ultra loft option addresses a trust issue some experience of tour players. For players learned to see a square face in the address, the slightly open position resulting from extreme adjustment settings can be problematic.

“Having a very low 7.5 ° sitting square at the point, our neutral position will only help from the point of view of eyes and trust,” Stockke says.

Ultimately

G440 LST 7.5 ° is not about recreation of the wheel. It is about providing a cleaner solution for players who need low ultra start features without visual compromises that come from extreme adjustment settings.

For players who are constantly finding themselves by adjusting the adjustment to achieve their optimal ball flight, LST 7.5 ° offers a more direct path for better performance. Proof it that sometimes the best innovation is not about increasing more characteristics – it is about recognizing players who need specific performance characteristics deserve dedicated tools than way out.
