The Philadelphia Phillies won the National League East in 2024 with a score of 95-67.
Although they won the division, the Phillies were upset by the NLDS rival New York Mets in their first round of the postseason.
After making the World Series in 2022 and the NLCS in 2023, losing in the NLDS probably seems like a disappointing season for the club.
The Phillies are making some moves in the front office ahead of the 2025 season, including a new general manager.
Philadelphia assigned Preston Mattingly, son of former AL MVP Don Mattingly, to Ty Daubert.

Don Mattingly played his entire 14-season MLB career with the New York Yankees from 1982 to 1995, where he was a six-time All-Star and won the AL MVP in 1985.
He is also known for managing the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2011 to 2015 and the Miami Marlins from 2016 to 2022.
The Phillies seemed close to winning another World Series championship after their performances in 2022 and 2023.
With a roster that included superstar players like Bryce Harper, Trey Turner and Kyle Schwarber, the Phillies appeared to be the favorite to win the title in 2024.
An upset loss to the Mets in the NLDS could spark some of these moves, and the Phillies hope it will benefit the organization in the future.
With their last World Series title coming in 2008, the Phillies will look to repeat as NL East champions and make a deeper run into the postseason in 2025.
