Liv Michigan, 2025 Team Championship eventIt started on Friday, and the fireworks started early. Twelve teams started the day in the run, but only six survived to keep their title hopes alive.
While the two best teams moved safely, the third rank team suffered a strong concern for Phil Mickelson’s Hyflyers team.
Here’s what you need to know.
Mickelson wins to advance in Livi’s semifinal
Mickelson had something of a personal renaissance on the course this season. He gathered three top 10 and ended in the 24th place in the individual standings.
But the Mickelson’s Hyflyers team ranked all the way to 10, coming to Liv Michigan’s team championship. As a result, they were forced to face against the GC Fireballs, ranked 3rd, which contains formerly -champion Masters Sergio Garcia.
But boredom was rarely in doubt on Friday in Cardinal in St. John. Hyfler’s teammates Brendan Stele and Andy OgleTree defeated the players of Fireballs Garcia and Josele Ballester 1 to secure the first point of the day.
The Tringale Cameron of Hyflyers than defeated Fireballs’ Abraham Anest 3 and 1 for a second point.
The last matches of single people scored Mickelson against David Puig. Both players encountered near all day, with Puig taking an initial lead before Mickelson won two holes to roll the script.
It was all square for some holes before Mickelson won in the 2nd and 4th holes (their 11th and 13th holes) to go 2 up. But Puig pushed back, draining a bird in the 7th par-4 to make it all square.
It remained that way until the first additional hole, when Mickelson occupied the 10th 10th Zog to win the victory and secure a 3-0 win over the GC Fireballs, knocking them from the claims to win the championship.
Observation of the Liv Team Champion semifinals
With their great concern from the road, Mickelson and Hyflyers will now get the highest ranking team in the semifinals. That team is Legion XIII, captain by Jon Rahm. Legion XIII defeated Cleeks Golf Club 2-1 on Friday.
Two other semifinal matches Saturday will appear Bryson dechambeau Crushers GC, who chaired the team of Majesticks on Friday, against Smash GC, and then Torque GC v. Stinger GC.
These three matches will have the same format as Friday. The three winning teams will progress to the finals on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the six loser teams from Friday will also compete in three matches on Saturday to determine the final team rankings.
The format will change dramatically for the last round of Sunday. Instead of competing in the game of the match, the format will go through the hook game. All twelve players in the three surviving teams will compete in an 18 -hole event, and the team with the lowest combined score will take home the title of Livi 2025.
