Pep Guardiola suffered the wrath of Anfield after Manchester City’s devastating 2-0 defeat by Liverpool on Sunday, but the Spaniard took it well.

City were comfortably beaten 2-0 at Anfield thanks to a goal in each half from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

Actually, it could have been a lot worse for citywith Liverpool wasting numerous great chances to extend their lead.

The Reds attempted 18 shots on the day, generating a whopping 3.35 xG, compared to just eight and 0.82 respectively for City.

Sunday’s defeat now extends City’s incredible slump to six defeats and a draw in their last seven games in all competitions, while they have lost each of their last four Premier League matches.

Towards the end of the game, Liverpool fans began to ironically chant “you’ll be sacked in the morning” at Guardiola, who must be feeling as low as ever as City manager, despite only recently signed a new contract.

In fairness to Guardiola, he took the jeers in stride, giving the Anfield crowd six fingers in reference to the number of Premier League titles he has won during his time at Man City.

Guardiola also applauded the Liverpool fans at the end of the game after creating an incredible atmosphere.
