Tommy Paul hasn’t played since his third-round loss to Alexander Bublik at the US Open, and that won’t change anytime soon.
The 20th-ranked American, 28, has pulled the plug on his season by pulling out of the Masters in Paris next week.

Paul, who has been dealing with a left foot problem for several months, has seen his momentum wane in the second half of 2025. He reached the quarterfinals of the first two Slams but lost in the second round at Wimbledon and the fourth round in New York. He went 29-13 on the season overall, and made his Top 10 debut in January, but as injuries mounted (he also had an absolute problem at Roland-Garros) Paul dropped out of the Top 10 in June.
He tore a ligament in his left foot at Wimbledon and was never the same. A player who relies on outside skills and amazing athleticism, it’s not hard to see why Paul would struggle to find his feet after such an injury.
A long season out should give him an opportunity to regain fitness and be fit for 2026.
