The New York Yankees entered the offseason after losing the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers and then lost one of their best players when Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets.
The Yankees responded by acquiring other key players for 2025, including starter Max Fried from the Atlanta Braves, reliever Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers and outfielder Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs.
The most recent major signing by the Yankees was Paul Goldschmidt from the St. Louis Cardinals, and the first baseman revealed his thoughts on joining the storied franchise.
“All the players that have played there have spoken very highly of the organization, the city and the fan base,” Goldschmidt said, via the YES Network.

Goldschmidt is a 14-year MLB veteran who entered the league in 2011 with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he played for eight seasons before going to the Cardinals for the last six seasons.
In 2024, Goldschmidt played 154 games and batted .245 with 22 home runs, 65 RBI and a .716 OPS.
The seven-time All-Star and 2022 NL MVP will give the Yankees a veteran presence in their outfield as they attempt to return to the World Series.
Goldschmidt has hit double-digit home runs in all but two seasons of his MLB career (as a rookie in 2011 and in the shortened 2020 campaign).
The Yankees’ roster is in the spotlight this offseason, and they’re poised to make another postseason run in 2025.
