Patrick Reed, Harold Varner III Lead Liv Golf Dallas after round 1

Before this week Golf Life event at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, Patrick reed talked about alone how much did it mean to Being in this year’s Ryder Cup team this year at Bethpage Black.

“Every time I represent our country, it means a lot to me,” he said. “For me personally, I’m always thinking of trying every team. Of course, being a part of Livi where we don’t get points, it’s an uphill battle, but indeed, for me, it’s focused to play a great golf and have a chance.”

Although Reed will not get any Ryder Cup point for a Liv Golf win on Sunday, maybe making a statement with his game was in his mind because his start of opening 67 (-5) was good enough to share the first round with the 4ace GC GC Harold Varner III. Only after them: Jon Rahm (-4) and Abe aer (-3).

Reed, who scored nine PGA Tour wins between 2013 and 2021, has a 7-3-2 record of Ryder Cup career in three appearances. He still should not win a Liv Golf title since membership in the 2022 League. A win on Sunday would also score the first reed in his Texas state since his new golf days.

“It would say a lot, of course, win in your country,” Reed said on Friday. “But really to me, honestly, it doesn’t matter where it is. Winning a golf tour is winning a golf tour. Adrenaline and that feeling to stay on stage and raising that trophy is an amazing feeling. It doesn’t matter where you are or anything like that.”

Reed’s round included five birds and one eagle, while Varner included six birds.

“It was wonderful to finally see Harold to get a score from the round, where I felt like he had to be around,” Reed said. “I’ve Played with Him a tear this year where he go out and you sit and you start scratching your head, like how do you shoot, Because and Ball and Just a Couple Puts and there, Burning Rather than Going in. Today to the the best to be. Putts and Go In, It Was Good to See.

Reed and Varner’s 4aces GC, captain from Dustin Johnson, holds a six -stroke lead over Bryson Dechambeau’s Crushers after round 1. 4aces GC is hoping for his first team victory since 2023.

Round 2 of Liv Golf Dallas begins at 1:05 pm on Saturday.
