Australian pacer Scott Boland is eyeing an opportunity to put more pressure on KL Rahul ahead of the five-match Test series between India and Australia.
Before the much-anticipated series begins later this month, the second unofficial Test between India A and Australia A will see Scott Boland and KL Rahul ply their trade for their respective teams. Added KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel. to the India A squad for the second game of the two-match series.
On the other hand, Scott Boland was also part of the Australia A squad for the first game but did not play. Rahul has been under pressure for some time now and will look to put in a good performance in the upcoming game to strengthen his case for a place in the playing eleven for the first Test in India.
The right-handed batsman made his Test debut against New Zealand last month. He was removed from the team after scoring 0 and 12 points. He was replaced by Shubman Gill for the second and third Tests. If captain Rohit Sharma misses the match due to personal reasons, Rahul may be available for the first Test against Australia.

Scott Boland vs KL Rahul:
A good outing against Australia A will definitely put KL Rahul in contention for a place in the Indian team. While Rahul tried to make the most of the opportunity, Scott Boland revealed that he has his eyes set on the Indian star.
Calling Rahul a world-class batsman, Boland said the Indian batsman is someone “we can peak at very early on”.
“I was lucky enough to beat him in a Test in India a few years ago, but it would be nice to play against him in our backyard. He’s a world-class player, but I think he’s someone we can get on top of a nice player early on and hopefully most of the summer on him. will stay,” said Boland.
Boland also talked about India’s recent 3-0 loss against New Zealand. The Australian pacer stated that despite India losing the series, the conditions will be very different in Australia.
“There’s more bounce, more seams here,” Boland said. “The way they will build their teams will be completely different from what you see in India.”
Boland will also hope to perform well with the ball in the upcoming game. The right-arm pacer averages a staggering 12.21 in Tests at home but finds it difficult to play regular games due to Australia’s well-established pace attack. A good show against India A will further boost his chances of playing in the upcoming series at some stage.
