Jasmine Paolini has the number of Coco Gauff in 2025.
The Italian was hanged around a three-set scratched competition, and eventually recorded its third consecutive victory over the twice champion of Slam on Friday evening to reach the semifinals in Cincinnati Open, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
“It was so difficult,” Paolini said. “I stayed there sometimes. I tried to fight every point, and it worked.”
Paolini, who turned his ankle at the beginning of the third set and had to see the coach, did not seem to be worried about the extension as she withdrew to win the issue distributed by mistakes in two hours and three minutes.
Paolini, who also scored wins over Gauff in Stuttgart and Rome this year, is in the last four in Cincinnati for the first time.
It hit seven winners against the 44 forced errors, while Guff hit 22 winners and 62 uninhabited errors.
Both players won seven service vacations, but it was Paolini who received the last one, with Gauff serving in 3-4 in the decisive group. She then converted her third point in the match to block victory.
The Italian will face Veronika Kuddermet in the semifinals. IgA Swiatek will take over Elina Rybakina in the first half semi -finals. Both will be played on Sunday.
