The talented “Pakistan A” squad for the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2024 has been announced. Muhammad Haris will be the captain of the team for the second year in a row after leading the team in the 2023 edition of the tournament.
The squad includes talented youngsters and some experienced individuals who have already represented Pakistan at the international level. Haris himself has played 6 ODIs and 9 T20Is for Pakistan and is considered a player for the future.
Under his leadership, Pakistan won the Emerging Asia Cup in the last edition, defeating India in the final. Mohammad Haris is also seen as a potential Pakistan captain.
The 23-year-old has recently led the Stallions, who have the likes of Babar Azam and Shan Masood. ODI Champions Trophy 2024. The wicketkeeper-batsman is expected to do a similar job this year as well.

Apart from Mohammad Haris, some of the other international players in the squad are Haider Ali, Zaman Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani and Abbas Afridi. Haider Ali has struggled for form since arriving in international cricket but will look to make a strong case for himself here.
Fast bowling is the focus of this squad selection. They have high quality fast bowlers like Zaman Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani and Abbas Afridi who are both talented and experienced.
In the last few months, Pakistan’s top fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah have struggled. Zaman, Dahani and Abbas Afridi will aim to make a mark here with the country’s fast bowling resources under the scanner.
Abdul Samad gets a call-up after an impressive Champions Cup run
The young and talented wicketkeeper-batsman Hasebullah Khan was also in the squad. The left-hander is a 19-and-under product and is also a quality wrench. Abdul Samad, who recently impressed with his delays in the Champions One Day Cup, has also found his place in the squad.
Players like Omair Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Mehran Mumtaz and Sufyan Moqim were also part of the squad for the last edition along with captain Mohammad Haris. These players will try to defend the trophy they won last year.
The Emerging Asia Cup 2024 will be held on October 18-27. The tournament is being played in a T20 format unlike last year’s ODI format. Eight teams with six full squads participate in the tournament.
