In his long pro -golf career, Padraig Harrington has made a lot of wins. Especially in diplomas. But Harrington had another great victory through his capture on Sunday, when a late collapse dedicated his senior PGA championship in 2025.
But the Hall of the Fame, which won Three regular regular men’s championshipsdid not blame his merger against the nerves. Quite the opposite. He instead pointed his finger at a more startling source: overlap.

At that point, Harrington was seven under that day and had reached 10 under the tournament.
Then, hit the disaster. Harrington hit a “big blow” from the 15th to the tough 15, then asked for numerous shots to save, resulting in a tour that changes double double to lose the single possession of the superiority.
A short lost blow to the last hole gave him a closing noise to fall to seven under. Finishing early, Harrington still had a chance at that point.
But Cabrera, its fresh The first major victory in the 2025 regions traditionhad eyes on the back-back titles. Cabrera Zogoi 11 to reach eight below, then 15 to reach nine under.

Then what happened to Harrington in those last holes? After his round, he explained that it was a long fault with overlapping in the course.

“You know, I had a timeless problem with getting safe and stubborn and I did in the 15 tee box, it was such a simple blow.
He continued his reasoning with another startling claim: that if the goal in 15 it had been much more difficult, he would have had a easier time to manage it.
“It has always ruined my whole life since I was a child. Just deal with confidence and just not. I would be much better if I went to the 15th hole and there would be water everywhere. I would probably have done a better job,” Harrington revealed. “I just sometimes – follows me around. I can get an excessive configuration.”
He then shared an anecdote from his time as a new golf player to underline his point.
“I lost a tour when I was 18 years old back … Irish youth and I did the same. Two forward with three to play and relax. I’m much better with nerves and tension. I was just calm at 15 and then I did it to 18 tee.”
Harrington summarized his theory by saying that for him, doubt is ultimately a good thing about his golf game.
“If you start with doubt, when you feel doubts about the ball, you don’t feel that bad,” Harrington explained. “If you start safe, then you feel suspicious that it’s like an explosion. So yes, so I was just very safe. It happens.”
Despite this strong loss, Harrington has experienced a lot of success in the old circuit. He debuted at the PGA Tour Champions in style, winning Senior Open of 2022, and he has collected eight extra elderly victories since then.
The elderly PGA has been less polite with it, though. This week’s disappointing conclusion was his second competitor in the event after losing to Steve Stricker in a play off in elderly PGA of 2023.
