With all due respect to Tiger, Rory, Nelly and their peers, professional golf is not the best part of the game.

Golf’s greatest appeal lies in the places it takes us, the memories we make and the people we meet along the way.

Golf, that is, as most of us enjoy it, either at our local muni or at a listed course far away. This is the game in which we will celebrate Destination GOLFa new bi-monthly podcast from GOLF.com now available wherever you get your pods: APPLE | SPOTIFY | HEART | AMAZON. (For a preview clip, see the video in this article.)

My co-host, Simon Holt, and I have a combined more than six decades of experience globetrotting to courses – and their surrounding areas – on every continent where the game is played. Valley of the Pines? Pebble beach? The Old Course? Augusta? I was there, I wet them. As we have with lesser known courses from Australia to Argentina, Cuba to North Korea, Long Island to Los Angeles, South Africa to Sweden and beyond.

Simon, who runs 08:00 Travelis from Scotland, where he cut his teeth on some of the world’s most fantastic links. I grew up in Brookline, Mass., and got my first glimpse of a famous course sneaking into The Country Club. But we’re both happy to play golf anywhere, and especially pleased when we manage to break 80.

Like our travels, our conversations will veer in all directions, but we promise to end up in interesting places. We will talk, of course, a lot about the courses. The ones we have played and the ones we dream of playing. And offering suggestions not only on where you might want to go, but also how to get there, what to eat and other things to do and see when you arrive.

The coolest clubs. The best cocktails. The strangest habits. The craziest practice verses. We’ve got you covered. We will interview guests. We will take your questions. No subject is too big or small, too foreign or familiar.

Our aim is to channel the spirit of the lively club banter you engage in with your friends after a round – complemented with the expertise and knowledge from our long years in the game.

IN Destination GOLFdebut episode (links below), we’ll give you a sneak peek at the top 100 golf courses on the US list, which won’t appear on GOLF.com until later this week. Please join us for that conversation—and wherever our travels take us.
