WBC Super Featherweight Champion O’Shaqui Foster against Stephen Fulton was added to the 25th of October Sebastian Fundora against Keith Thurman Undercard for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Fulton (23-1, 8 COs) will rise from the featherweight division to challenge Foster (23-3, 12 food) for his 130 pound WBC belt.
Former WBC and WBO Super Bantamweight Champion ‘Cool Boy’ Fulton, 31, moved up last year on September 14, 2024 to 126 and beat Carlos Castro and Brandon Figueroa.
Now Fulton will go up again to challenge Foster, 31, for his WBC 130-pound belt. This is a winning battle for Fulton, because O’Shaqui is a defensive fighter with a low-output pot style that Floyd Mayweather Jr. Used during his career. It is a style that is also similar to Shakur Stevenson.
The ring broke the newS of Foster-Fulton is added on the 25th map of October 25.
Foster is struggling against fighters with high outputs, as seen in his 12-round defeat against Robson Conceicao on July 6, 2024. O’Shaqui lost last year on February 16, 2024 against Abraham Nova and won a now 12 round decision.
Fulton is versatile with the ability to focus on volume punch, on the inside or from the outside. He can offend it all and adapt well during battles. Fulton’s lonely career defeat came against Naoya Inoue in an eighth round loss on July 25, 2023 in Tokyo, Japan. Inoue’s push was too much for Fulton.
It is a good fight for the hardcore box fans who follow the sports carefully, who know who these two fighters are, but it is not the needle-ear that the leading boxing champions need to bring in the PPV purchase for the Fundora-Thurman event.
There is still no word about what will be the price point for this October 25 event on PBC at Prime Video PPV. If it will be priced in the $ 70+ series, it will require older fans who still remember Thurman wants to buy it. Fundora is not a PPV fighter. Thurman was once an active fighter, but his career has delayed since 2017.
The bottom map needs greater battles to create demand. Former WBA and WBC Welterweight Champion Thurman (31-1, 23 COs) have been too inactive since 2017 and have only fought four times over the past eight years, and twice in the previous three years.
