Oscar de la Hoya posted on social media today and forced Xander Zayas to agree to a fight against Vergil Ortiz Jr. In Las Vegas on Dazn PPV. De la Hoya argues that Zayas should give up his plans to defend his WBO junior middleweight title in Puerto Rico.

Oscar’s plea to Zayas
“We have a perfect battle for you on a silver tray. Pay-per-view, let’s do it in Las Vegas at the MGM, and you say you keep saying that you want to go to Puerto Rico? How? Your promoter (top rank) has no TV. Where are you going to fight? Onlyfans? ‘ said De la Hoya.
It would be a shock if the highest rank would be to make this battle for Zayas, 22, because they slowly cared for him and tried to turn him into an east coast with a match.
His last fight against Jorge Garcia Perez for the vacant WBO junior middleweight title showed that he could not fight in the bag. Xander’s style is identical to Devin Haney’s, but with many involved.
Zayas would be too much for Vergil Ortiz JR, just as he would fight if he Bakhram Murtazaliev, Israil Madrimov, Jaron Ennis, Sebastian Fundora, Yoenis Tellez, Serhii Bohachuk or Erickson Lubin.
Why the Top rank doesn’t risk Zayas
If the top rank is going to throw the 22-year-old Xander in a fight he can’t win, it will only be one that they can get a big return on their investment. Vergil Ortiz jr. Is not nearly a big enough battle to happen unless Turki Alalshikh would be involved. However, why would he? This is not a big enough battle because Zayas is not popular and has that ugly Haney-Esque style.

It has been rumored that the person is welterweight Giovani Santillan. He has a record that looks good at first glance at 34-1, but he is harmless. Xander will easily get past him in his homecoming for his defense at the end of the year in Puerto Rico.

This is a lost case for De la Hoya. He goes to the wrong droid. What he needs is to make more feasible opponents for Vergil Jr. too target to defend its WBC 154-pound interim title. These are more realistic options for Ortiz Jr.
