Osaka storm in the semifinals open in the US with victory over muchova – tennis now

Naomi Osaka has returned to the end of the business of a Slam, and pronounced. On Wednesday evening inside Arthur Ase Stadium, the former world No.1 enabled the past Karolina Muchova, 6-3, 7-6 (3), to book her place in the US Open semifinal.

It is Osaka’s first trip to Final Four in a clash from its title executed in Australian Open 2021, and once she saw her strong brand and her inspiration. The big champion four times, 21 months old in returning from maternity leave, improves in an unmistakable 13-0 in the quarter-finals, semifinals and finals in diplomas, underlining how dangerous remains when the actions are higher.

Osaka played well from start to finish, hitting 30 winners at 21 for Muchova, after she denied Czechekina a third consecutive appearance in the US Open semifinal.

Muchova fought with an upper leg case and had to leave the court for treatment after the opening group, but it did not seem to be prevented in the second set. It should also be said that she played four three decisions to reach the quarter -finals.

“I think it was, like, the third or third or fifth match,” she recalled later. “I just went as a little wrong with the ugly movement. I don’t know what it is. I think it’s just something with the muscles we hope I won’t take a lot of time to recover.

“But yes, it limited me a little to trial, but I played quite long matches here. That certainly didn’t help me, yes.”

The 26-year-old won the only opening break in the last match of the set, then survived a shocked second that presented two vacation trades before coming to Tiebreak.

“I was just trying to stay there and see if I had an opportunity,” Osaka said. “Fortunately I did, and I managed to get it.”

A semi -final collision with Amanda Animova American comes afterwards. Osaka is well aware of the challenge to cope with the growing American who built one of the biggest victories of her career Wednesday against IgA Swiatek.

“Of course for me she has always been one of the most talented players on the tournament,” she said. “I think no one wants to see her name next to them, especially with what she would do potentially. I think she’s one of the players where you don’t know where to hit the ball.”

Osaka, making offers to become the first mother to win the US Open since Kim Clijsters in 2010, and the first mother to claim a Slam title from CLIJDESS to Australian Open 2011, added the prospect of her trip.

“The first thing I did after becoming a mother was pressured to myself. I would always say to myself, as if I am far from my daughter, I have to say something. Given, she is here now. She wasn’t here in Montreal, though, but I think I allow all those expectations to go, and I’m just trying to play and play, you know what happens.”
