Reilly Opelka Turned a lost cause in the faith found Sunday in Cincinnati Open.

The American who served from the bomb won his first career victory over Alex de Minaur in six efforts, and he did it crucial, coming through 7-6 (6) 6-4 to establish a third round clash with Francisco Comenana, Argentina.
“I didn’t serve as I would like, but everything else was working,” said Opelka, who had not faced De Mineur since 2022. “My attempt helped me a lot, playing with many insults and I was pretty stable from the whole match.”
The 73rd rank is now 2-1 against Top-10 in 2025, after defeating Novak Djokovic in Brisbane at the beginning of the season.
After starting the season at 283 in the ranking due to a disruption that forced him to leave ATP Tour for nearly two years, 27-year-old Opelka is now up to 65 in the Live ATP ranking. He had a hip operation in 2022, then the right -hand operation in 2023.
