The Seattle Mariners missed the postseason for the second consecutive season as they finished with a record of 85 wins and 77 losses.
After making the postseason in 2022, the Mariners did not make the playoffs in either of the past two seasons, although they had winning records both years.
The Mariners will explore the free agent class this offseason as they try to win the American League West for the first time since 2001.
MLB analyst Kevin Frandsen believes the Mariners should sign free agent starter Blake Snell this offseason.
“That’s what Seattle is for me. I think that’s the bottom line,” Frandsen said of where Blake Snell should sign.

Frandsen explains that signing Snell to Seattle would allow the Mariners to then trade one or two of their starting pitchers for better offensive players.
The Mariners have struggled with scoring in recent history, and Frandsen believes signing Snell would allow the Mariners to address their offensive issues by trading for other valuable starters.
Snell pitched for the San Francisco Giants in 2024, where he started 20 games and had a five-win, three-loss record with a 3.12 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 104.0 innings.
The 2023 National League Cy Young Award winner suffered some injuries in 2024, but still managed to put together a solid season in his first year with the Giants.
Snell is one of the best starting pitchers this year, and it will be interesting to see if the Mariners try to sign him through the 2025 season.
