Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to try to lure Red Devils midfielder Casemiro to Turkey’s Besiktas.
Casemiro, who joined United in 2022 under Erik ten Hag, has tumbled down the pecking order under new head coach Ruben Amorim. The Brazilian has been an unused substitute in seven of United’s last nine Premier League games.
“I have to make some decisions,” Amorim said recently when asked to explain his limited use of Casemiro. “I want to play a style of game that is sometimes different from other coaches and I have to choose based on that, that’s all.”
With Casemiro thought to be available for transfer, AS Solskjaer is looking to link up with the former Real Madrid midfielder at Besiktas.
Reports have also linked Solskjaer and Besiktas with a to move for United striker Marcus Rashford, although the Englishman is believed to be uninterested in such a move.
When he took charge of Besiktas earlier this month, Solskjaer was quickly asked about potential moves for Casemiro or Rashford.
“There is always a lot of speculation Manchester United players, there’s always a lot of speculation around me,” Solskjaer said Sports TRT. “Casemiro, Marcus, two very good players, but I haven’t spoken to any of them.”
