Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has come under fire for his recent performance for West Ham in their draw against Fulham.
The Hammers were held to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon in a game they would have lost but for a last-gasp goal to rescue a point.
Raul Jiminez opened the scoring for the visitors, latching on to a smart pull-back from summer signing Emile Smith-Rowe in the 24th minute and smashing the ball into the back of the net.
The visitors struggled to create chances as Marco Silva’s side polished off the Hammers’ goal by racking up an astonishing 21 shots during the game.
But while it looked a bit of a loss, forgotten man Danny Ings popped up in the 95th minute with a strike that slotted past Bernd Leno and just inside the post.
Although Julen Lopetegui’s side managed to rescue him late on, there will certainly be concerns for the team going forward, especially the defense that struggled to contain Fulham’s attack.
Publication a X after full-time, talkSPORT’s Tome Rennie criticized Mavropanos’ performance, claiming the defender is not up to par in the Premier League.
Mavrapanos again. too deep He doesn’t run back to the beat. Does not block the cross. I’m sorry, but it has to go. Not even Premier League quality.
