WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames responded predictably to social media to the promoter Eddie Hearn who claimed last Saturday night that Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis ‘will beat all’ at 147, 154 and 160.

“Not a TV series”
Adames (24-1-1, 18 COs) posted on X and let his followers know that it is not like a ‘TV series’, where you can beat everyone after one win. Hearn spoke crazy this past Saturday after his fighter, IBF Welterweight Champion Boots Ennis (34-0, 30 costs), knocked out WBA champion Eimantas Stanionis (15-1, 9 COs) in the sixth round in the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“Boots do not lose at 147, he does not lose on 154, he does not lose at 160. Look what he does in the next few years; he goes through all the divisions,” said promoter Eddie Hearn last Saturday night after Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis’s sixth-round TKO victory over Eimantas Stanionis.
Hearn concluded from the victory over the unproven Stanionis, who has never beaten a significant opposition in his career of 15 battles, that Ennis a world champion of three divisions and no. 1 pound-for-pound will be.
How can fans buy that Hearn sells when Boots doesn’t even want to fight the WBC-TUs-Tus 154-pound champion, Vergil Ortiz JR, for a career height payday on February 22 card of Turki in Riyadh? Ennis allegedly rejected big dollars for a fight against Ortiz Jr. For a minor unit match against Stanionis, which was elevated to his WBA Super Champ status outside the ring. He is elevated just like boots with his IBF title.
If Hearn really believes that Ennis can beat all the top dogs at 154 and 160, why doesn’t he set up a fight between him and Carlos Adames? This is a fight he will probably agree if Hearn offers him the right money. Would Adames accept the $ 1.8 million for a fight against Ennis?
The world is changing. We have a ‘champion’ who is just brave because of X. Then I read about someone who can beat everyone at 154 and 160 after one win as it is a TV series. Enough though.
