Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas star in the second season of SPRINT

The US duo once again have prominent roles in the series, while Netflix cameras are also focusing on the likes of Julien Alfred and Letsile Tebogo.

The Paris Olympics may be over, but fans will soon get a behind-the-scenes look at the games.

Documentary series SPRINT, which premiered on July 2, is back with its second installment and it will be released on November 13th.

The trailer of the series shows how a number of athletes prepare for the Olympic Games and how they fight for the gold medal in the French capital.

The second series of SPRINT focuses on Fred Curley, Gabby Thomas, Keeshan Thompson, Julien Alfred, Letsile Tebogo, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Marcel Jacobs, Kenny Bednarek, Sherika Jackson and Oblique Saville.

Several of them are featured in the trailer, and Lyles and Thomas are just two of those athletes.

Lyles won the Olympic 100m gold medal at the Stade de France in 9.79 to beat Thomson by just five thousandths of a second.

It was a slightly different story in the 200m, with the US athlete, who later revealed he was suffering from Covid, finishing second behind Tebogo.

Also featuring heavily in the line-up is Motswana, who won her country’s first-ever gold medal at the Olympics with that semi-final victory.

Tebogo clocked an incredible 19.46, which puts him in 5th place on the all-time 200m list.

Arguably, Thomas’ equally impressive 200m victory will come in SPRINT’s second season.

The American ran 21.83 to stand atop the podium and walk away from the Games with an astonishing three gold medals, helping the US women’s 4x100m and 4x400m teams to glory.

Alfred, who finished behind Thomas for silver in the 200m, won the Olympic 100m gold to secure Saint Lucia’s first medal in any sport in the history of the Games.

His national record of 10.72 in pouring rain at the Stade de France sparked wild celebrations on the island and videos of thousands of people watching his 100m glory went viral around the world.

Netflix is now hoping that the global success stories of Olympic athletes can help bring the sport into new markets and inspire the next generation.

The second season of SPRINT is executive produced by Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees and Warren Smith at Box to Box Films (Full Swing, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Tour de France: Unchained) in association with Olympic Channel.
