“No money” to PPV King? Rolando Romero’s thoughts on Garcia, belts and a Haney insult

Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero says he now has the “PPV Hakie” By winning the WBA ‘ordinary’ welterweight title with his victory over Ryan Garcia last Friday night in New York. Romero (17-3, 13 food) points out that it was his third time on a pay-a-look card, and he is away from a ‘no money’ fighter to ‘make a lot of money in one fight’.

You can certainly say that Rolly is now a demand fighter, possibly the biggest star in the 147-pound division among the world champions. While IBF and WBA Welterweight Champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis is perhaps the most technically gifted of the belt containers in the division, Rolly may be the bigger star because of his commercial attraction.

Romero is much more entertaining outside the ring with his charisma and comedy angle. Ennis is comfortable in interviews and looks like a broken plate, stuck on the phrase, “If I have my fun.“I’m going to get spiritual when I hear the phrase again.

Ppv -hakie

“I’m in the ppv bracket. I’m at the top. I did three PPVs now. I had a three pay-per-view now because Pitbull and I were a double head, ‘Rolando’ Rolly ‘Romero says for the Danza project. “I didn’t skip from no money to a lot of money in one fight. I want to fight the best. Everyone wants to wander around.

“It was difficult to hit him to the body because he didn’t want to get involved,” Rolly said about Ryan. “It’s hard to strike people who don’t try to get involved, because if he came forward and tried to participate in the fight, he would have been cold. There is no way to do that. ‘

Ryan completely closed his offense after Romero dropped him in round two, and he never dared again. That Knockdown influenced Garcia in such a way that he just completely surrendered the ship to him without a fight. It was a poor way to surrender. You can only imagine what it would be like to have Ryan in the same platoon in wartime in the battlefield conditions – standing and blowing the white flag of surrender when it became difficult.

“I thought it was there, but two seconds later I realized,” This guy is still going to be there, “Rolly said when asked about his thoughts when he dropped Ryan Garcia last Friday. “I thought I would finally hit him with the same shot (left hook), but he never threw the same shot again. So I was like ‘good. ”

Rolly could still have Garcia knocked out if he did these things:

  1. Pressed the attack: Rolly could have applied more pressure after dropping Ryan, and kept him under an uninterrupted assault. Instead, Romero did the opposite, hung back, fought for the time being and threw only one punch at a time.
  2. Increased punch volume: If you throw more blows, it would have resulted in Romero Garcia knocking out within the first six rounds. He didn’t. Rolly spent the last ten rounds loading on single shots, making a lot of noise, but not focusing on the volume. You can see that he feared to be cut by one of Ryan’s left brackets.
  3. More focused on head shots: The left hook Rolly dropped Kingry in round two that he was vulnerable to the head. Surprisingly, he did not use it by throwing more on the head. Many of the Jabs who threw Rolly were in the second half of the fight at Garcia’s torso.
  4. Acted inward: Romero should have forced the action from inside to get past Garcia’s tight stitch, and then worked him over with hooks and top of the head. Ryan needs space to throw his short left hook. He couldn’t do it if Romero stayed on his chest, suffocated his main weapon and hammered him. Again, fear was the reason why Rolly did not.

Haney History

“When I had a championship belt at 135, he (Devin Haney) tried to fight between me and him,” Romero said of an attempt by Devin Haney to negotiate with him when he was still lightweight. “He wanted $ 8 million and I get $ 100,000. So,” oh, I cried Rolly. I sent him a contract. “Did he really send me a contract?

Rolly let fans know about the arrogance of Haney when he was still 135, trying to name the shots with him while in the Challenger role in his WBA -Tussentage belt.
