Nitish Kumar Reddy owes success to his father and silences critics


Indian National Cricket Team all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy spoke about the sacrifice his father made to become a cricketer. He also said that he wants to prove some people who doubted him wrong.

Nitish Kumar Reddy made his family proud as the Indian National Cricket Team scored a magnificent century in the ongoing fourth Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The match between the teams is played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.

Nitish Kumar Reddy became the third youngest player in the history of Indian cricket to reach a century in Australian conditions. The all-rounder produced a sensational effort and made sure to bail the team out of trouble with his magical effort with the bat.

Nitish Reddy lived every boy’s dream by hitting a ton in front of his family in the stands. His father was in tears as his son played a magnificent innings of 114 runs and helped the Indian National Cricket Team reduce the deficit to around 100 runs.

Talking about his father, Nitish Reddy said that he quit his job when he had nothing and it was his father who believed in him. He spoke about the comprehensive sacrifice and told reporters:

“Honestly, my father served in the central government for 25 years. When I was in trouble, I was not really playing the government game. So, when I was in trouble, my father was the first to believe in me. He believed in me and resigned from his job for me.

“And he quit his job to take me to the gym, he wants to be there for me no matter what I want. He’s made a lot of sacrifices. If I have to say, there won’t be enough time. But I am very grateful to have a father like him.”

Nitish Reddy, the leading run-getter for India in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, said many people doubted him and he wants to prove them wrong. He said he wants everyone to know that he is doing his best for India. He added:

“I didn’t think like that. But I know some people doubted me like he’s young playing IPL and not able to play in big series like that. I know a lot of people have talked about it. I know they just feel wrong because of what they say about me. i want to do And I do it. I want to let people know that I am here to give 100% to the Indian team.”
