Nigel Benn On Eubank Jr. Fight

Nigel Benn says it was “the real Conor” who beat Chris Eubank Jr in their first fight last April. He states that he threw wild punches throughout the fight, making it look like a “barroom fight”. Nguel claims that it will be the more polished version in the rematch this Saturday, November 15, against Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Can Conor Eubank’s work rate match?

Benn, 29, will have to improve to prevent Eubank Jr. again being worked out and beaten on the inside, as seen on April 26, 2025. As Conor looked, he seemed unable to physically match the output of Chris Jr. If he could, he would have shown it in that fight. He clearly practiced fighting on the inside and throwing a lot of shots. That’s not his style.

“We’re going to see the real Conor. It wasn’t the real Conor. If you watched him, you would know that he threw no punches, no hooks or jabs. He just winged them. It looked like a pub fight,” said Nigel Benn Fight Hub TVtalks about how his son, Conor Benn, fought Chris Eubank Jr. last April.

It looked like the same Conor Benn we’ve always seen. He always loaded up with his shots as a pro from day one. It’s not just something he first started last April in the Eubank Jr. fight; one can understand why Nigel is grasping at straws and trying to figure out why he looked so bad with a plausible reason.

Will BoMac Eubank Jr. alter?

“It won’t make a difference. He’s had four or five coaches, and none of them have changed him. He’s still the same way,” Nigiel said when asked about his thoughts on Eubank Jr. to bring in trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre to train him for the Benn rematch.

That could make a difference for Eubank Jr. with ‘BoMac’ in his corner if he respects him and is willing to follow his instructions during the fight. ‘BoMac’ probably won’t tell him anything different than his previous trainer, Johnathon Bank, on April 26. But if he has more faith in ‘BoMac’ because of the success he’s had with Terence Crawford, he might be more willing to do what he says.

“Terence Crawford can go to any coach, and he’ll still be the boss,” Nigel said, suggesting that ‘BoMac’ didn’t raise Crawford. He would have been the same fighter no matter who trained him. “He’s going to be the real Conor.”
