Nick Ball (23-0-1, 13 CO’s) proclaimed Naoya Inoue on Saturday night, after his successful title defense of his WBA featherweight title against Sam Goodman (20-1, 8 COs) in the ANB arena in Riyadh
It wasn’t the kind of achievement that would give the belief that he would have a chance to beat ‘The monster’ inoue or deserves even to stand in the presence of Japanese superstar king.
“Yes, definitely. There has been so much talk that this should not happen. Everyone wants it. Let’s make it happen, ‘Nick Ball said Queensberry The next time after his victory over Sam Goodman on Naoya Inoue, to fight.
Ball’s victory over Goodman was not clear and could easily have a draw. Many fans on social media have scored the fight as a draw, just like me. Goodman went out and knocked out a ball in six of the twelve rounds. This should have resulted in the fight being a 12 round.
The Goodman Fight Scorecards
The scores were 115-113, 118-110 and 117-111. Those scores do not reflect the battle that took place tonight, as Goodman used his body and a nearby series of fights to dominate the 5’2 “ball. Sometimes Nick got frustrated about the technical master class that the Aussie Goodman tackled, grabbed and fled. These anger-driven movements should have led the referee to be warned, but that could not happen.
Bruce Carrington calls ball “food”
The WBC -Tussentage Featherweight Champion, Bruce Carrington, posted a message on social media in response to Ball’s actions and described him ‘food’. He saw the same weakness as we all did in him, and he is getting started and wants to get a chance to fight against him. Carrington has been sounded with the WBA for more than a year and ignored by Ball. After tonight’s performance through him, you can see why.
