Newcastle’s head, Eddie Howe, taken to hospital


Newcastle United has confirmed that Eddie Howe has been admitted to the Hospital and will lose the Sunday Premier League clash with Manchester United.

A statement by Newcastle explained that Howe had felt bad and was taken to the hospital for treatment on Friday night.

Attending coaches Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will take over Newcastle for the match at St James Park.

“The main coach of the Magpies was admitted to the hospital in the afternoon on Friday evening, after having felt bad for several days,” read Newcastle’s statement.

“Medical staff kept Eddie at the hospital at night for subsequent tests, which are ongoing. He is aware and talking to his family and continues to receive expert medical care.

“Everyone in Newcastle United extends their best wishes to Eddie for a speedy recovery and will make more updates at the time.”

Howe recently delivered the first major Newcastle Trophy in 56 years when his team prevailed over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium. He also returned to the Champions League football in 2003 and has his team to qualify again for the highest competition in Europe.

The 47 -year -old was appointed in 2021, after having given his name for two defining spells in Bournemouth, for a total of 11 years.
