Newcastle vs Bournemouth: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

Newcastle United are looking to make history on Saturday lunchtime when they host Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The Magpies got their ninth consecutive victory in all competitions on Wednesday after winning against Wolves, with three points against Bournemouth setting a new club record for consecutive wins. Star striker Alexander Isak is chasing his own record of scoring in eight consecutive league games, with Jamie Vardy’s 11-match streak the current standard.

After a lackluster start to the campaign, the Magpies are now firmly in the Champions League qualification frame having climbed to fourth in the table. They sit above Chelsea and Manchester City in the table following their revival.

However, Bournemouth will challenge the customers and enjoy an impressive run. Unbeaten in their last ten games in all competitions, they know victory at St James’ Park will move them within a single point of their Tyneside opponents as Andoni Iraola continues to spearhead the Cherries’ promotion despite relentless injuries.

here it is 90 minutes guide to Newcastle vs Bournemouth.

Fabian Schar

Newcastle will be keen to see Fabian Schar back this weekend after he missed the win against Wolves through illness. Jamaal Lascelles also remains absent at centre-back, while Nick Pope remains on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Injury-prone Harvey Barnes is once again in the treatment room after picking up a thigh injury during the weekend’s win over Bromley in the FA Cup. He is expected to be out of action for a month, while Callum Wilson is also unavailable with a hamstring problem.

Newcastle predicted line-up against Bournemouth (4-3-3): Dubravka; Delivery, Botman, Schar, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Isaac, Gordon.

Andoni Iraola

Bournemouth are suffering an injury crisis, with James Hill joining the treatment room after the midweek trip to Chelsea. He joins fellow right-backs Julian Araujo and Adam Smith on the sidelines, with Marcos Senesi also missing in defence.

Alex Scott, Enes Unal and Evanilson are long-term absentees having undergone surgery, although the former is nearing a return. Marcus Tavernier and Luis Sinisterra are also sidelined, and Iraola has no attacking options.

Bournemouth v Newcastle predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Cook, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Adams; Brooks, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouatarra

With Newcastle in such remarkable form and Bournemouth plagued by injuries, Eddie Howe’s side should claim their 10th successive win in all competitions. The Cherries fielded an almost entirely youth bench against Chelsea and their depleted squad is probably running on fumes.

While Bournemouth have the ability to disrupt the Newcastle machine. the form of Isak, Anthony Gordon and the Magpies’ robust midfield should guide them to victory. Having found goals hard to come by earlier in the campaign, they have now scored two or more in their last 11 games and should score a few more come Saturday lunchtime.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Bournemouth
