Liv Golf’s new general manager, Scott O’neil, has begun to sound a lot like former -ceo Greg Norman.

There is a new CEO in Liv Golf this year, and while he plans to make a lot of changes, he shares a thing in common with his predecessor: making very controversial, even wild claims about Upsart League.
New Honcho leader in the Saudi -funded Golf Tournament, executive of the long business of Scott O’Neil, officially took over the work of CEO BY Greg Norman in January. It followed months of rumors that Norman had decided to collapse.
While Norman was probably the leading figure in the creation of Liv Golf, his caustic, combat style in the midst of a year of PGA Tour was wearing thin.
Finally, the Liv-Pga Tour Deal appears on the eve of-something
Dylan dethier
With PGA Tour and the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), which finances Liv, in order to end the quarrel, many believed that Norman was the wrong person to make peace.
PGA Tour Rory Mcilroy star was a figure which made those thoughts known at press conferences In many cases.
So when Norman’s near crash reports began to be fooled in last fall, the news welcomed. Perhaps a new, less vitriol CEO would help the parties come to a final agreement after years of negotiations.
But if O’Neil’s comments on Sunday at the Liv Golf Adelaide event are proof, it seems that the new CEO is more like the old CEO than they had hoped very much.
Speaking to David Fehets and others in Saturday’s broadcast in Fox Sports’, O’Neill threw a stun.
“You don’t have to look too far from our table to know that outside of diplomas, if you want to see the best players in the world, there is only one place to see it,” O’Neill said. “And that’s in Liv.”
There is no doubt that liv golf has OTHER USEFUL By the best players in the world. Do not look farther than Joaquin Niemann, who won the Adelaide event this week. Or Jon Rahm, who was the largest of Livi. Or Bryson Dechambeau, the popular garden that reigns us open champion. Brooks Koepka is another former PGA Tour who has won a major since membership in Liv. Australia’s Cameron Smith showed extraordinary promises before joining Liv, including a great victory.
But after those five players, the Livi list seriously lacks the power of fire. The aging of many big winners like Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson are nowhere near the players that were once. And with only 54 players competing in the league, there is little depth to speak outside the 20 of the first.
Meanwhile, it is easy to argue that contains PGA Tour LOT Of the best players on the planet, including the best player, no. 1 Scottie Scheffler, in addition to Mcilroy, Xander Schauffle, Hideki Matsuyama, Ludwig Aberg, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Tom Kim and Jordan Spieth, to name only a few.
PGA Tour also has LOT The main players in the Pro game. Regular tournaments in 2025 show approximately 140 players, everyone can match anyone outside the high -level players in Liv Golf.
But one thing O’Neill said it sounds true. Majes are where golf fans really see the best, no matter which tour they play. And the game is stronger when all the best players from PGA Tour and Liv are competing in the same events. We will have to wait to see if a final agreement Between PGA Tour and Liv can make it happen more often.
