Gautam Gambhir’s tenure till date:
Gautam Gambhir took over as the head coach of the Indian team in July last year. He replaced Rahul Dravid right after he last led the Indian team to T20 World Cup glory.
Although the reign hasn’t started in a promising way for Gautam Gambhir, the past year has gone very well for him and the Indian team. By the end of 2024, India performed poorly in tests and did not qualify for the WTC finals. They bleached at home row against New Zealand before losing the series in Australia.
But the Indian team has done really well this year. After winning the Odi and T20i series against England at home, the men in blue with the champions trophy in the UAE. A fine outing followed in England, where they drew the five-match series 2-2.
Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the squad are currently in Australia for the limited overs tour. India suffered a loss in the first ODI and will look to bounce back when the second match takes place on Thursday.
