Navarro Back to High Career No.8
Emma Navarro Submitted a double Bagel to Emiliana Arango, Columbia in Sunday’s final in Merida, and rises to No.8 in the rankings, again in her high career. American claimed her second and bigger career title and only fell 15 games in her four games.
She is the fifth WTA player who has been distributing a double bagel in a final since 2000.
Arango throws 53 to no.80
Sunday was a difficult day at the Arango office, but Colombian reached the final of her daughters WTA from qualification and throws 53 spots to make her debut at Top-100 this week. Nothing to hang your head up.
Avenityan at no.39
22-year-old Russian Elina Avensyan Pushes six points higher after reaching the semifinal in Merida. It is up to a high career no.39 this week.
Kessler continues to grow
US McCartney Kessler She continued her steady rise this week after making it to the final in Austin, where she was defeated by the eventual champion Jessica Pegula. Kessler won her second WTA title in January in Hobart, and has compiled a 14-6 record in the season.
She made her debut on Top-100 last August (after winning the title of her daughters in Cleveland), after starting 2024 outside the best 200.
Joint, zonmez break new ground
Zeynep Zonemez of Turkey claims a high career at no. 77, while Australia’s Maya grows to no.85. Zonmez reached the quarter -finals in Merida, where she won the title of her daughter WTA last year. Common, one of the two teens now within 100 WTA (also Mirra Andreeva), reached the quarter-finals in Merida.
