Napoli manager offers update on interest in Man Utd’s Alejandro Garnacho


Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has admitted the club are “ready” to do so sign a replacement for winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in response to links with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

Kvaratskhelia left for Paris Saint-Germain last week in a deal worth around €70m (£59.1m) and is believed to Napoli have set their sights on Garnacho as his preferred substitute.

Manna was asked specifically if Napoli will try to lure Garnacho united. While he declined to go into details, he acknowledged that the club is working hard to find Kvaratskhelia’s replacement.

“We are doing some evaluations, we must not get carried away by the frenzy,” he said Sky Sports Italy. “There is expectation, we will be ready but on the terms of Naples.”

United are not believed to be actively looking to offload Garnacho, whose The potential availability has caught the attention of Chelseabut would be willing to listen to offers of around £60m.

It is claimed that Napoli “will not wait much longer” for United to commit to Garnacho’s asking price before pursuing alternative targets. Marcus Rashford has previously been mooted as an option, but the Englishman is attracting more interest from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
