Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has suggested he is happy with life at the club at the moment, despite coming to the end of his contract and being linked with a summer move.

The Denmark international may not have lived up to expectations during his time at Old Trafford, but last night he showed some signs of his old quality in Man Utd’s emphatic 7-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup .

One imagines Erik ten Hag will surely find room for Eriksen over the course of a long and grueling season, meaning depth and squad rotation will be important for the Red Devils.

Still, it seems Eriksen is still unsure about staying at United beyond the end of this campaign, so it’s somewhat mixed messages from the former Tottenham man overall, even if he doesn’t it seems he was desperate to leave this summer, or close to doing so, despite what some outlets had reported.

Eriksen transfer: Man United midfielder talks future

Speaking of this at Daily MailEriksen said: “I feel very good at United. If they told me to leave, I would leave, but I didn’t hear it.

“I’m also a guy who likes to be in a place where my family is settled and at the same time be in a place where I can benefit and play, that will always be my goal.

“It’s hard to ask the coach in the offseason how many minutes I will have in a season. If he starts promising players minutes, we’re going to have a long season.

“There was no talk in that sense, just keep your head down, work hard and focus on every game.

“There’s one year left, so my focus will be on this year, going to the top and seeing what happens next.”
