I Told Myself To Play Smart – Musheer Khan
Speaking on Day 1 after his century, Musheer credited Navdeep Saini for his crucial role in the rescue effort. Musheer said Saini gave him the confidence and assurance to contribute. He added that he wants to defend balls early and take singles later.
“When the gates fell on the other side, I told myself to play smart and look for partnerships. Then Saini bhai gave me a lot of confidence and said he will play whether it’s two balls or six balls and just keep faith in him,” said Musheer.
“He was able to adjust to my mindset and approach when batting. But in general, I defended the first three or four balls and then tried to take the single ball.”
At the time of writing, India A were 72/2 with Riyan Parag (5 off 16) and KL Rahul (0 off 8) at the crease. Navdeep Saini has been the pick of the bowlers for India B. Saini picked two wickets, including Shubman Gill for 19 runs in his four overs.
