Musheer hit a huge six off Kuldeep Yadav in the second ball of 111 in India B’s first innings of the ongoing match. The right-hander sent the delivery over deep mid-wicket from Kuldeep Yadav. The delivery went through the roof, showcasing Khan’s power and timing.

Musheer Khan’s knock ended in the same over two balls later. The right-handed batsman attempted to sweep Kuldeep Yadav next. But the delivery hit the bottom of his bat and went to Riyan Parag at deep mid-wicket. Parag completed the catch by ending Khan’s toss in the ensuing match.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared the video of Musheer’s hit on X (formerly Twitter) at the local official office. “A 6 that hits the roof and then falls in the deep! Kuldeep Yadav bounces back powerfully and a brilliant innings of 181(373) ends for Musheer Khan 👏” he captioned it.

The 19-year-old rescued India B from 94-7 in their first innings. Khan added a 205-run stand with Navdeep Saini for the eighth wicket. He scored when other star strikers like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant failed to score. India B were bowled out for 321 runs in 116 runs.

I Told Myself To Play Smart – Musheer Khan

Speaking on Day 1 after his century, Musheer credited Navdeep Saini for his crucial role in the rescue effort. Musheer said Saini gave him the confidence and assurance to contribute. He added that he wants to defend balls early and take singles later.

“When the gates fell on the other side, I told myself to play smart and look for partnerships. Then Saini bhai gave me a lot of confidence and said he will play whether it’s two balls or six balls and just keep faith in him,” said Musheer.

“He was able to adjust to my mindset and approach when batting. But in general, I defended the first three or four balls and then tried to take the single ball.”

At the time of writing, India A were 72/2 with Riyan Parag (5 off 16) and KL Rahul (0 off 8) at the crease. Navdeep Saini has been the pick of the bowlers for India B. Saini picked two wickets, including Shubman Gill for 19 runs in his four overs.
