Musheer Khan forgets all his senior players as he gives all the credit to this man after the Duleep Trophy ton.

Young batsman Musheer Khan revealed his brother Sarfaraz Khan’s motivational words ahead of his Duleep Trophy debut. Musheer said that after scoring an impressive hundred on the opening day of the match, Sarfaraz Khan advised him to play his natural game and follow his technique.

Sarfaraz and Musheer are currently playing for India B in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024. Sarfaraz was dismissed for just 9 runs against India A in Bangalore. However, his brother Mushir bailed the team out of trouble and scored an unbeaten 105 on Thursday.

Sarfaraz Khan And I Have The Same Game – Musheer Khan

After the first day’s play, Musheer shared how his brother Sarfaraz Khan encouraged him to play his natural game. Mushir noted that Sarfaraz’s playing style is similar so he tries to follow his approach.

“My brother and I have the same game. I try to follow what he does. In the middle, he only asked me to follow my technique. Usne bola agar tere ko lagta aage bad sakta hai, to aage bad kar khel (If you want to go ahead, go ahead and do it),” Musheer posted the game of the day.

India A’s pacers Akash Deep and Avesh Khan took advantage of the conditions at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed by Avesh Khan for 13/42 balls. Musheer came to bat at No. 3 and repeatedly went down the track to counter the pace and bounce.

Musheer Khan and Sarfaraz Khan batted together for 10 overs until India B’s batting line-up reached 94/7. Musheer then forged a crucial unbeaten partnership with Navdeep Saini, who scored 29 runs off 74 balls. The batting duo added over 100 runs for the eighth wicket on Day 1.

I wanted to bat all day – Musheer Khan

Musheer reached his third first-class century in just his seventh match. The 19-year-old batsman said he wants to focus on staying at the crease without thinking too much about runs. Khan said the runs will come after settling into the crease.

“I wanted to play as many balls as possible without thinking too much about runs. I wanted to hit all day and I took it session by session,” Musher said.

“When I came to bat, the ball was swinging and cutting. So I was trying to play the ball as close to my body as possible and I was trying to avoid risky shots. I knew the runs were going to come eventually,” he said.

The Mumbai batsman produced strong performances under pressure. The batter scored two first-class centuries for Mumbai before his final century. He scored a century in the quarter-finals and final of the Ranji Trophy. Now he continues his impressive form in his debut Duleep Trophy game.
