Jaime Munguia issued a statement on Instagram responding to his positive test for exogenous testosterone metabolites of the testing conducted on May 4, a day after his victory over Bruno Surace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The super-mid-weight contender Munguia (45-2, 35 COs) says the positive test was a “Full surprise for me.”
Munguia, 28, points out that he was tested twice in the camp for the fight, and that it did not come up positive. He says he has never tested positive during his career. He mentions that he is willing to have “retroactive, current and future testing” to show that he is a “clean athlete”.
Munguia’s B monster will have to be tested to clean him. He has ten days to request that it be investigated. If it also appears positive, it is unclear what his next step will be. He will face a suspension, get a fine, and the results of the fight will be changed to a no-Contest.
It will harm Jaime’s career if his B sample also tests positive. Some fans argue that Munguia just has to raise his hands and admit that he has used. Show class and admit that he made a mistake. Munguia doesn’t seem to do it.
