The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has found itself at the center of a storm, with Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen making explosive allegations that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not committed to the league. Sending shockwaves through the cricketing world, Ali Tareen claimed that the PCB has not fully supported the PSL, treating it more as a burden than an asset.
Despite reaping financial benefits from the Pakistan Super League, the Pakistan Cricket Board sees its domestic franchise league as a franchise-run entity rather than a joint cricket enterprise, according to Multan Sultans owner Ali Tare. Tareen mentioned that there are snakes all over the PSL.
Multan Sultans owner accuses PCB of treating PSL as a burden
The owner of Multan Sultans further claimed that internal politics and ego clashes within the PCB hindered the growth of the PSL. He further stated that decision-making is influenced by personal agendas rather than merit. He openly claimed that the PCB did not care about the PSL, leaving everything to the “snakes”.
Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen said on Relukattay’s YouTube channel, “PCB has the least control, although they have full control, but the least control is over PSL. There are franchises and others. They are tired of it. They want to do what we want. We do what we want. All this work of PCB focusing on local leagues, local players and people who work at PCB all year round.
They have monetary benefits from the PSL, but the snakes’ egos are at stake: Ali Tareen
Tareen further remarked, “PSL runs for one month in a year, so they don’t care about PSL. PCB does not feel PSL is ours. They feel that these are franchises. They get TV time. They benefit. We see no benefit. So they don’t care. They have a monetary benefit from the PSL, but the snakes’ egos are at stake. If you bring people on merit, they will benefit. They will think logically. All PSLs have snakes. They make decisions.”

Meanwhile, the Multan Sultans owner also shocked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in ruining Ihsanullah’s career. Ali Tareen claimed that Ihsanullah’s operation was done by a friend of one of the PCB board officials and left many scars which were never removed.
Ihsanullah suffered an elbow injury during the white-ball series against New Zealand in April 2023. The right-arm fast bowler, also known as Matta Express, is one of Pakistan’s fastest bowlers but is still recovering from surgery. and no update yet on his fitness and comeback.

Ali Tareen blames PCB for ruining Ihsanullah’s career
Ali Tareen gave a heartwarming update on Ihsanullah and said that the Multan Sultans pacer’s career as a 150 KPH bowler was completely over due to complications from a previous surgery. Despite specialist intervention, the injury is irreversible and the bowler is unable to fully straighten his arm.
Tareen pointed fingers at the PCB, blaming their handling of Ihsanullah’s situation for this tragic outcome. He said, “I am very sad for Ihsanullah. He recently met with an expert. And he said, “I can do the surgery, but no matter what I do, he has a lot more than his previous surgery.
“No matter what I do. and because he doesn’t have a straight arm, he’ll never be able to bowl the same way.” Thanks to PCB, Ihsanullah’s arm will never be perfectly straight. So, too bad. It’s a very unfortunate story, but Ihasanullah can never be a 150 km/h bowler again.”
