Mujeeb Ur Rahman returns as Afghanistan announce white-ball squads for Zimbabwe tour



Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced their lineups for the upcoming white ball series Zimbabwecomprising three T20Is and as many ODIs will be held in Harare from December 9 to 17. After the white-ball matches, the two teams will face each other in a two-match Test series starting on December 26 in Bulawayo. a chance to prepare for the longer format.

Note that the 23-year-old mysterious spinner Mujib Ur Rahman has fully recovered from his finger injury and is set to return to international cricket.

Mujeeb, who last represented Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup in June, recently made a competitive comeback in the Abu Dhabi T10 2024. His return has boosted Afghanistan’s powerful attack, the main strength of the team.

Zubaid Akbari wins T20I call-up

Pastry of the highest quality Zubayd Akbari has been included in Afghanistan’s T20I squad as a replacement for Ibrahim Zadra, who is still recovering from an ankle injury. Akbari was in good form scoring 705 runs in 25 T20 matches at an average of 29.37 and a strike rate of 123.68. His performances in domestic cricket and the ACC Emerging Teams Cup, where Afghanistan won the title, impressed the selectors.

He is an important member of our team and we hope that he will continue to shine brightly for Afghanistan. Besides, Zubaid Akbari and Darwish Rasooli have been consistent performers not only in domestic cricket but also in the recently concluded ACC Emerging Teams Cup. We wish them success in future series.” ACB Acting Chief Selector Ahmed Shah said in an official statement.
