MS Dhoni declared GOD of T20 cricket with bold claim from CSK star

26-year-old Delhi and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Simarjeet Singh has claimed that MS Dhoni has the greatest cricketing mind when it comes to T20 cricket and no other player knows more about the format than the CSK legend.

MS Dhoni is the most successful captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and he has led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to 5 IPL titles. He stepped down as captain for the second time just before IPL 2024 and handed over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwa.

Overall, he led CSK and RPS in the Indian Premier League, winning 133 out of 226 matches with a winning percentage of 59.37. He is also the only captain to win more than 100 matches in the league. Not only this, MS Dhoni was also an excellent T20I captain for India as he won 41 out of 72 matches and led the team to victory in the T20 World Cup in 2007.

Looking at all these achievements of master tactician MS Dhoni, Simarjeet Singh claimed that no player, not even Rohit Sharma, knows more about T20 cricket than Dhoni. In an interview with Press Trust of India, Simarjit said:

“MS Dhoni has helped me develop as a better T20 bowler. I don’t think anyone knows about T20 cricket except him.”

MS Dhoni taught me a lot – Simarjeet Singh

Simarjeet Singh added that Dhoni has taught him a lot and he is always ready to help him. He also spoke about domestic cricket and learning from international cricketers who come to participate in the IPL.

“He (MS Dhoni) taught me a lot; that’s not the only thing he’s helped me with. We constantly ask him for advice and he always keeps things simple by saying that playing simple cricket is the best way to play.”

“I just want to learn and when top Indian players come and play domestic cricket. We have to learn a lot for them,” he said.

Although Simarjeet Singh has put in some good performances for Chennai Super Kings, there is no guarantee that the franchise will retain him ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Talking about the mega auction, he said that he doesn’t care which team picks him, he just wants to play cricket.

“I just want to play cricket, wherever I go, whichever franchise picks me, I just want to play and grow as a cricketer,” he said.

Talking more about Dhoni, the CSK legend is yet to confirm his participation in the Indian Premier League 2025 but made it clear that he will decide based on what is best for Chennai Super Kings.

Notably, there are reports claiming that CSK will retain Dhoni as a loose player as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to bring back the old rule for retired cricketers that was scrapped a few years ago. used for years.
