20-year-old Fils says his friend and sometimes doubles partner, John Petch Perricardmay be among the best in the world.

The 6’8″ Perricard hit 22 aces in the win Ben Shelton 6-4, 7-6(4) to capture his first ATP 500 championship in Basel today.
Fils, who has been hitting with 21-year-old Mpetshi Perricard since they were young teenagers, insists he has all the weapons to challenge the elite.
Mpetshi Perricard didn’t drop serve in winning Basel, and his ability to hold is one reason why he’s so hard to beat, Fils says.
“Well, if he doesn’t miss any serves, it’s hard to break him. He’s very hard to play with, that’s for sure,” Fils said of Mpetshi Perricard at his Rolex Paris Masters presser today. “He’s part of the best servers and he’s very good on the ground. He also moves very well on the field.
I think and hope that he will be part of the best”.
