Castrol Honda LCR’s Johannes Zarco leads the MotoGP pack after mixed conditions Day 1 of the Brazilian Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix on a rain-damaged afternoon saw Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Torak Razgatlioglu (Prima Pramak Yamaha MotoGP) hold off the Thai leader (Prima Pramak Yamaha MotoGP) beat Thailand leader (Ramja Pramak Yamaha MotoGP) Marco Becci in the afternoon. Q1 on Friday after P20.

Rain, rain, away
It was dry but for how long? At the start of Brazilian MotoGP Practice there was nothing hanging over the threat of rain, and the tire timing attacks were right at the top of the session. Wet drops and light drops created overpowering conditions, and he got few riders on the preliminaries.
Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) broke down too early in the session at turn 4, with Jack Miller (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP) and home hero Diogo Moreira (Pro Honda LCR) having similar accidents while leading in heavy rain at the same corner.
Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) and Marc Marquez had their first run of the timesheet meeting before Zarco moved to P1 in 1:21.257. It was a real battle to break into the top 10 in the opening half hour, much to the surprise of rookie Razgatlioglu. The rain came as the Turks moved up to P3 behind Zarco and Marc Marquez, ahead of Martin and world championship leader Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing).
Heavy rain drenched the Autodromo Internacional de Goiania – Ayrton Senna with 30 minutes to go in practice, and that meant disappointment for anyone looking to improve – including Bezcicci, who sat in P20 when the wet weather arrived.
The Italian was the first rider after the weather eased slightly in the final 10 minutes, and the Thai GP winner was also scrambling on slippery tires to try and get into the top 10. However, the improvement did not come as expected. After running wide at the entrance to Turn 10, Bezeci returned to the box and that seemed to be all she had written in terms of automatic Q2 positions. And the same can be said for Thailand’s double podium finish of Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse MotoGP Team) – #25 was outside the top 20 on a disappointing day for half of the RS-GP fleet.

Your Brazilian Top 10 on Friday
So Zarco has Martin and Acosta behind the top three, Marc Marquez and Razgatlioglu, with Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) completing the top six. Fabio Quattararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) makes it two Yamahas in the top 10 in P7, the Frenchman will enjoy this, and Chappe to eighth place Fermin Aldeguer (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP). No pre-season tryouts. They still need crutches to get around. And he sticks his Ducati in the P8 in tough conditions. Amazing.
The 2025 Rookie of the Year cruises into Q2 with ninth-placed Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), knowing that he will sleep a little easier tonight with the final rider of Ai Ogura (Trackhouse MotoGP Team) safe to shoot for pole position in Goiania.
