Everything comes down to this. The 2024 MotoGP™ finale has arrived and ahead of three days of title-deciding on-track action at the Barcelona Mutel Solidarity Grand Prix, the two championship contenders – Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) – faced the media for the last time this season on Thursday. Decision about #The Rematch To discuss the exclusive press conference.
George Martin (Prima Pramac Racing)
How are you feeling going into this weekend?
“I’m happy to be here, and I’m really happy to be here fighting Peco for another world championship, at the level we’re at now, I think it’s crazy that we can both make a difference. The rest is therefore a blessing to be here. It’s great that we’re racing for Valencia, I think it’s great for them if I’m racing. I’m happy and confident in myself, and I’m looking forward to driving because I’ve had a lot going through my mind this week, which is totally normal. As always I’m a bit worried, but the main thing is that tomorrow we’re finally on the road and I can enjoy the weekend and try to be competitive.
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team)
How do you see your chances of retaining the #1 plate after Sunday?
“First of all I want to say that I am happy to compete here. I think it’s a great mission for us to help Valencians and for what happened in Valencia. This weekend, we know it’s very difficult to get 24 points in one race weekend. We have to do everything we can, and my mission is to win both races and that will happen on Sunday. This track is very good for us, we were very competitive in May, so we have to take it as an advantage and try to be perfect. When we finished first and second in May, we finished 11 seconds behind us in third, so I think we’ve shown again that we’re on another level. I really hope someone else will be in the mix, and my mission will be to win, I know George will be smooth and wait a little longer. He finished seventh in both races and I think he can still be champion, so it will be difficult, but let’s see, pressures can play a part in that and we’ll have to wait until Sunday.
