MotoGP: Racers help in Valencia’s recovery efforts.

Competitors from MotoGP and other series are helping communities in and around Valencia recover from floods that have killed at least 200 people and left many unaccounted for.

The Aspar team posted pictures on social media of new Moto3 world champion David Alonso and Aspar team owner Jorge Martinez digging through the mud and debris left by the storm. And images of 2023 MotoAmerica Supersport champion Xavi Fores helping to clear mud from the streets of affected areas have been shared. “My house and family are safe now but some family homes are gone… we are trying to get back to normal life and help the people who are most affected now,” Force told The world of road racing.

A portion of ticket sales from the final MotoGP in Barcelona will go directly to Valencia’s relief funds. The series says it will have three auctions over the weekend – two on-site and one online. The on-site auctions will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from 4am to 6pm and will be held in the circuit’s Fanzone. MotoGP riders will take to the stage alongside Legends and VIPs to auction off some of the amazing items donated from the paddock.

“Enthusiasts from around the world can also take part in the online auction, where we have some truly one-of-a-kind lots to help the cause – we’re talking about Maverick Viñales’ Moto3™ A championship-winning bike is one of the first items offered,” MotoGP said in a statement posted on its website.

MotoGP will produce an exclusive #RacingForValencia t-shirt, with proceeds going directly to the charity. Many in the paddock have already donated and will continue to do so.

All MotoGP™ The money will be given to La Cruz Roja (Red Cross), who are working on the ground in the community of Valencia, with the aim of helping the towns near the circuit.
