MotoGP: Aldeguer to Miss Taigp Round

The Gresini rider is in the opening stages of the season as he continues his recovery from injury.

Gresini Racing has confirmed that Fermin Aldeguer will miss the upcoming Buriram test and the season-opening Thai Prix as the 2025 Rookie of the Year continues his recovery from injury. The news is a major setback for the Spaniard, who now has to wait until at least the Brazilian Grand Prix at the end of March to make his first appearance at the track in the 2026 season.

Aldegar fractured the shaft of his left femur in a pre-season training incident in Valencia, Spain, and underwent surgery in early January to repair the injury. However, the team confirmed on social media that they fell short in their efforts to qualify for the opening round of the campaign and will continue to focus on rehabilitation. “Aldegar will continue to push forward with determination and perseverance. His recovery is progressing quickly, but not enough to see him through in Thailand. He will miss the Buriram trials and the season opener.”

Michel Pirro replaces #54 in Thailand. We wish you a speedy recovery, Fermin!
