More from the MotoGP press release:

Holgado denied Alonso’s pillar in Goiania. In his first Brazilian GP for Moto2, Aspar went 1-2 with a heroic lap to put Escrig P3.

More track time proved key as Daniel Holgado (CFMoto Inde Aspar Team) graduated to pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix for the first time in Moto2 through Q1. It was the first front row for Alex Eskrig (Clint Racing Team) as the Spaniard finished 1-2 with team-mate David Alonso in second.

In a tense and fresh Sunday morning qualifying session, Holgado advanced from Q1 alongside Joe Roberts (US Fans Only), Barry Bates (REDS Fantic Racing) and Sergio Garcia (ITALJET Gresini Moto2). From the start, Holgado was never out of the top three and swapped the top spot with teammate Alonso, aiming to become the first Colombian to win the Moto3 World Championship in 2024. Although that honor was to be expected as Holgado edged P1 by 0.017s, it was an impressive performance by Asrig, not only on the front row but also at the front.

Manuel González (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) gave him all but three mistakes – turns 5, 10 and 12 – on separate laps to keep him ahead of top rookie and veteran Angel Piqueras (QJMOTOR – PONT GRUP – MSI) in fifth. Colin Vejer completes row two with a solid sixth as he aims for his fourth top-six finish in the 26-lap Grand Prix.

Notable names elsewhere on the grid include top Bosco Suro rider Celestino Vitetti in eighth as well as Izan Guevara (BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2) in 13th.Thwith the current Championship P2 career. At the back of the field, it’s been a tough week for Senna Agius (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) as he heads from Buriram Pole to Goiania.
