Husband, Myth, Lamonf!
The curtains are set to close in one of the longest showstoppers in history in tennis history next year. Gael Monfils has announced that he will withdraw from professional tennis at the end of season 2026.

The 39-year-old Frenchman, one of the most beloved and electrifying stars that ATP Tour has ever seen, announced the news on Wednesday.
A tour match and a massive fan favorite since his 2004 tour debut, former world no. 6 has accumulated 13 ATP titles, but more important: countless moments that should be seen displaying his athlete of the world, sports, humor and grace.
He broke the news on social media on Wednesday morning October 1, saying:
“An exciting new generation of players is already here and I hope they will enjoy their time in court as much as I have for the last two decades.”
Indeed, it is difficult to imagine someone who enjoys the game as much as Montfils did.
His passion, his gift for dramatic creativity, creativity and boundless imagination were always on the full screen as he brought joy to the world of tennis in a way that very few players have done before.
An acrobatical showman that could fall jaws with extraordinary regularity, Monfils plans to play a full season next year and retire in the end, which means he is likely to call him rest in the house of Paris masters.
Along the way, there will certainly be tears of joy at every tours he makes. Still ranked 53th in the world, Monfils had been extremely competitive for his late age.

The Parisian magician will return 40 years old September 1.
“When you love something so much, it never feels like a good time to say goodbye,” Monfils wrote on social media. “But 40 will be the right time for me. Of course, winning one more title before I finished would be really extraordinary.
“Indeed, my only real goal for the following year is simple: enjoying every minute, and playing every match as is the last.”
