The Swedish pole vaulter and the American sprinter are receiving top honors from the world governing body, World Athletics.
World champions Mondo Duplantis and Sidney McLaughlin-Levron were named World Athletes of the Year in Monaco on Sunday (November 30).

Prior to being named the World Athlete of the Year, Duplantis was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Year and McLaughlin-Levron the Female Track Athlete of the Year.
Spain’s Maria Perez and Kenya’s Sebastian Save were confirmed as Sportsmen Away from the Stadium of the Year, while Kenya’s Emmanuel Vanyoni won the Sportsman of the Year and Australia’s Nicola Ollislagers the Sportswoman of the Year.
