India National Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammad Shami is nearing full fitness ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. According to RevSportz, it is learned that the fast bowler has continued to bowl in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
After the 2nd day’s match between India and New Zealand, Shami was seen bowling in the nets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Reports claimed that the fast bowler started the session with warm-up runs and then continued to bowl for a few minutes.
Mohammad Shami started the bowling with a short run
Shami started his bowling with a short run and then started to widen it. The pacer was later seen bowling with what looked like a crepe bandage on his swollen left knee a few days before the ongoing first Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team.
Reports claimed that Shami had increased his pace and was bowling at about half his usual pace. He maintained the same speed in the next 2-3 passes. After a short drink break, he measured his full run with a tape and increased his intensity as well.
Troy Cooley, fast bowling coach from NCA, has been keeping a close eye on Mohammed Shami and also Nitin Patel, head of sports science and medicine at the National Cricket Academy, has been keeping a close eye on Shami’s bowling action. The pacer then hit full throttle and looked good with his pace and movement.
While Shami had a brief discussion with Cooley and Patel, the fast bowling coach was seen applauding the pacer after some quicker deliveries. Although he bowled with full tilt, his bowling intensity was not what we have seen from him..
