The breakthrough in talks is a huge boost for Slot, who would like to keep both players at his side and hopes they will continue to be part of his Anfield project.

Since Jurgen Klopp’s successful days at Liverpool, Salah and Van Dijk have been the mainstays of the team and have taken a leadership role at Anfield.
