The MLB offseason is a lawless place because every reporter is fighting each other for even the slightest bit, when in reality the baseball offseason is slower than any other sport and no one really has much to report in the month leading up to the World Series.
It’s a stressful time for those who report, and Jon Heyman got caught up in that stress Friday during a viral rant that’s been making the rounds all over social media.
On Friday, Heyman appeared on WFAN to speak with Keith McPherson, and after McPherson pressed Heyman on news of a potential payday from super agent Scott Boras, McPherson followed up on Heyman’s failed 2022 fire when he incorrectly wrote that Aaron , also known as Arson Judge, was signed by the San Francisco Giants back, Heyman blasted him and said “I’m done with you and I’m done with WFAN. I can’t even believe it. I can’t even believe it.”
Jon Heyman’s spot with Keith McPherson comes to an abrupt end.

To no one’s surprise, fans ate this one up.
Everyone knows that agents use journalists during negotiations. and if you think this is just a conspiracy, oh and while we’re on the subject, let’s dive into the free agent “power rankings” or “top prospect lists” they’re all a hoax

Was he crying at the end? That was wild. Didn’t feel the actual attack. Hopefully just a misunderstanding.

It was actually the arson judge’s tweet that angered him. Shortly after, he said someone could leave him alone if he was a “good person.”
Heyman has had people remind him of that tweet over the last 2 years, it was his Bill Buckner moment. And it was…

He basically mocked the worst moment of Heyman’s career and then suggested that he was on Boras’ salary and got a percentage of the FA contracts. His 10 listeners probably thought it was funny.

I thought it sounded like hell and would probably come off as well

McPherson tried to smooth things over by explaining that he was joking because it was a Friday night, but Heyman was clearly in no mood for jokes.
McPherson said we all needed some comic relief from Juan Soto’s draw, but unfortunately it was a tough crowd, and McPherson apologized shortly after Heyman hung up.
As if the holidays weren’t stressful enough, having to hang tooth and nail on one player chasing a $1 billion contract from one of the richest teams in sports while all of your peers are fighting for the same story must be an unpleasant work experience.
Hopefully these two can complement each other and Heyman can return to WFAN one day.
