Major League Baseball has recently made many rule changes, including increasing the pitch clock, increasing the size of the bases and limiting the number of mound visits.
Over the years, many players and fans have questioned the baseball umpire because of the many calls that are missed or just plain wrong during games.
Robot umps have been mentioned as a possible solution, and MLB recently made an announcement that could make them a reality.
“Major League Baseball will test robot umpires as part of a challenge system during spring training at 13 ballparks home to 19 teams, which could lead to regular season use in 2026,” FOX Sports wrote to MLB- in whose X?

Officiating a baseball game may seem like an easy job from the outside, but umpires are human, which means they’re going to make mistakes just like everyone else.
However, a missed or wrong call by an umpire can completely change the outcome of one at-bat or an entire game.
Many fans and players all want to see robot umpires incorporated into baseball to ensure that the game is fair and the correct calls are made 100 percent of the time.
MLB agreed to this test of robot umpires during spring training, and they could be used in the regular season in the near future.
Robot umpires have been the subject of speculation for some time, and it will be interesting to see how the pilot phase goes and whether or not they will be part of baseball’s future.
